Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the Saudagar software ("Saudagar", "we", "us") handles and how. Saudagar is shop software (sale counter, stock, khata and accounts) developed by Irfan Maqsood. It is installed and runs on the shop owner's own computer.

In short: your shop's data stays on your own computer. We do not collect it, sell it or see it. If you turn on Google Drive backup, Saudagar can only access the backup files it creates in your own Drive.

1. Data stored by the software

Saudagar stores the information you enter — such as products, stock, sales, purchases, customers and suppliers (names, phone numbers, addresses), payments, expenses and user accounts of your staff — in a database on the shop's own computer (the "main computer"). Other computers in the shop and the mobile app connect to that main computer over your local network.

This data is not sent to us or to any server operated by us. The shop owner is in control of it and is responsible for the information they enter about their customers.

2. Information we receive

License: to issue a license key, you give us a "machine code" shown in the software. It is a one-way code made from your computer's ID; it does not contain your business data. Licenses are checked on your computer, without contacting us.
Support: if you contact us, or send us an error report from the software, we receive what you choose to send (for example your name, phone number and the report). Error reports describe the technical problem and do not include your sales or khata records. We use this only to help you.

3. Google Drive backup (Google user data)

Google Drive backup is optional and off until the shop owner connects it.

What we request: only the Google permission drive.file ("see, edit, create and delete only the specific Google Drive files you use with this app").
What it is used for: uploading backup files of your shop database to your own Google Drive, listing those backup files so you can restore one, downloading a backup when you restore, and deleting old Saudagar backups to save space. Saudagar cannot see, read or change any other file in your Drive.
Where the access token is kept: the Google sign-in token is stored encrypted on your shop's main computer only. It is never sent to us.
Sharing: we do not receive, store, sell, share or transfer your Google user data to anyone. Backup files travel directly between your computer and Google.
No advertising or AI training: Google user data is not used for advertising, and it is not used to develop, improve or train any artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
Disconnecting: you can disconnect Google Drive from the Backup screen at any time, or remove Saudagar's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Backup files already in your Drive stay there until you delete them.

Saudagar's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4. Email backup

If the shop owner turns on email backup, Saudagar sends the backup file from the owner's own Gmail account (using an app password the owner enters) to the address the owner chooses. The app password is stored encrypted on the shop's computer and is never sent to us.

5. WhatsApp messages

When you send a bill or a payment reminder on WhatsApp, Saudagar opens WhatsApp on your device with the message filled in. You send it yourself; Saudagar does not send messages on its own and does not receive your WhatsApp data.

6. Security

Passwords are stored as secure hashes, staff only see what their role allows, important actions are recorded in an activity log, and secrets on the computer are encrypted. Please keep your Windows computer protected with a password and keep regular backups.

7. Keeping and deleting data

Your data stays on your computer for as long as you keep it. Uninstalling Saudagar does not delete your database or backups, so you do not lose data by accident; you can delete them yourself. Information you send us for support is deleted when it is no longer needed, or sooner on request.

8. Children

Saudagar is business software for shop owners and their staff. It is not meant for children.

9. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date above.
